CJC-1295 No DAC is a lab-made copy of the first 29 amino acids of GHRH, the hormone that tells the pituitary gland to release growth hormone. Its half-life is roughly 30 minutes. The DAC form is a different compound with a half-life of about 6 to 8 days.

Why scientists study it

  • One dose gives a single short pulse of growth hormone on top of the natural rhythm, while the DAC form keeps levels raised for days.
  • It is not the same compound as CJC-1295 with DAC, whose maleimidopropionic acid linker, missing from No DAC, bonds it to albumin in the blood and stretches the half-life to about 6 to 8 days.
  • Papers often pair it with compounds that switch on the ghrelin receptor, such as ipamorelin, to test whether two separate pituitary pathways release more growth hormone together.

Three studies to know

2005 · Endocrinology

Jetté and colleagues described the first CJC-1295. It carries a DAC linker that lets the peptide bond to albumin in the blood, which makes it last far longer. The No DAC form is the same four-swap peptide without that linker. Read the paper

2006 · Journal of Clinical Endocrinology & Metabolism

This phase I work used the DAC form in healthy adults. Teichman and colleagues found that one dose raised GH for 6 days or more and IGF-1 for 9 to 11 days. The half-life was 5.8 to 8.1 days. Read the paper

Also with the DAC form, Ionescu and Frohman found that GH still came out in pulses for the whole period that baseline release was raised. Read the paper

  • There is little human data on how the body handles the No DAC form itself. No randomized controlled trial of it has been completed and published.
  • The FDA, the EMA and the MHRA have not approved it as a treatment. The World Anti-Doping Agency bans it at all times under section S2 (Peptide Hormones) of its Prohibited List.
  • For laboratory research use only. It is not for human use.
